MSD – A tale to tell

When I first thought to start writing about a piece on MSD. I was not sure that what to start from. But I am really thankful to Chetan Sharma & Manoj Prabhakar who actually provoked me to write this blog.
I really amazed how soon we forget positives of a person who is still the only ONE captain to win all ICC trophies under his captaincy. Even the captains of mighty Australia have not achieved the feat. Not only this, he supported the team members when they are in the worst form of their life. Live example is Rohit Sharma, who has owned a world record of 2 double centuries in ODIs. Even in some extent Jadeja, who is still one of the best all rounder in world cricket. (I am saying in the respect of such incident as I know that the ALLROUNDERS are not accepted in India, particularly because either you have to be a batsmanor bowler). Whatever someone says, in reality we have An allrounder today with Indian team, which we were searching since the great Kapil Dev retired from the world of cricket.
MSD’s achievement in small stats:
  • ·         First Indian captain to win T20 world cup (The inaugural one)
  • ·         First Indian captain to win a triangular series in Australia in 2008
  • ·         First Indian captain to win Man of the match in world cup finals 2011
  • ·         First Indian captain to win a champion’s trophy in 2013 (Ganguly’s team was joint winner with Sri Lanka)
  • ·         First Indian wicketkeeper to lead India in Test/ODI/T20 ever
  • ·         He is the only player in world cricket who represents one franchise for more than 100+ matches as captain in T20 format & many more...

If I will start sharing the stats of his wicket keeping records than I must say, no other Indian wicket keepers are even half of MSD’s stature.
I accept that it’s tough to digest a series loss against a team like Bangladesh and I am sure even Dhoni & team is more affected then us. We must remember that cricket might be a passion or sport for us. However, for them, it’s the bread & butter. They need to keep performing well to stay in the hunt for a better life style.
I am dead against of changing captain at this moment. When time is not good, the most experience person should take the reign & play the show. None other than MSD can do this at this moment. The next experience & capable player is Kohli. Who is already suffering from bad form. One can imagine the guy who is a run machine in ODIs, unable to score a 50 in past 10 consecutive ODI inns & have bad anger management. Though I am sure, he is THE capable person to handle the team once the right team will come. However, I am sure that right team is not NOW.
The ex cricketers, who all are opposing MSD as a captain or player. They were a mediocre player of their era. I can see players like Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, Aliester Cook, Michael Vaughan, Yashpal Sharma is supporting MSD. He must be our captain in a shorter format as he is no more active in Tests.
We can’t miss a player like MSD due to a series lost. We player worse than this in past & I am sure the team might play worse than this in future too. However, I am a firm believer in MSD & can say we will come back as a much stronger team than ever. Keep faith in MSD & team.

FYI

MSD is currently A captain of the Indian ODI/T20 team. Also A captain of Chennai Super Kings (A T20 franchise). A proud father of Ziva, Husband of Sakshi, son of Mrs & Mr Pan Singh Dhoni.

@last,
कहने को सारे  लोग रहते हैं साथ जब दिन अच्छा हो ।
सच्चे इंसान वोही होते हैं जो बुरे दिनों में आपके साथ हो।
आगे चल कर वोही तो मिसाल बनते है।
